The RE-PREZENTACJE Association and Fabryczna Conference Center join forces to support people experiencing homelessness in Kraków
In October 2024, CKF_13 officially partnered with the RE-PREZENTACJE Association to support people experiencing homelessness through regular food donations.
For many years, RE-PREZENTACJE has been providing meaningful support to marginalized individuals by combining social assistance with cultural initiatives. The organization runs projects aimed at improving the environments we live in and building a more inclusive society.
One of their key initiatives is TERMOKAWA – a project that has been providing practical help to people without shelter for the past seven years. The association distributes thermal mugs to those in need, which can be refilled free of charge with coffee or tea at selected cafés across Kraków. Since 2018, they have also handed out sandwiches, coffee, and tea every Sunday on Kraków’s Planty Park.
“Our goal is to include people in crisis, restore or strengthen their sense of dignity, and build awareness that they are a part of society, with full rights just like anyone else,” says Szymon Pasaj of RE-PREZENTACJE.
This mission has now been joined by Fabryczna Conference Center, which is actively involved in redistributing food to individuals experiencing homelessness. It’s another step toward building a city rooted in solidarity and mutual support.
The need for assistance remains urgent. According to a nationwide study by the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy conducted in February 2024, there are 2,093 homeless individuals in the Małopolska region—a 10.3% increase compared to 2019. In Kraków alone, the number stands at 1,241—and that includes only those officially recorded.
“CKF_13 is one of the largest conference venues in Kraków. With our own catering facilities, we quickly realized the scale of food waste following events and knew we had to take action,” says Karolina Bednarz, who coordinates the project on behalf of CKF_13.
“Through our partnership with RE-PREZENTACJE, we now donate untouched surplus food from events directly to people in need. Working with a public benefit organization that specializes in food redistribution felt like a natural next step for us.”
Since the start of this partnership, food remaining after events at CKF_13 has been delivered to shelters across Kraków. After each event, the CKF_13 team packages the food, which is then collected and distributed by RE-PREZENTACJE volunteers. To date, hundreds of kilograms of catering-grade food have been shared with those in need.
